Account
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Settings → Manage Account → Danger Zone → Delete Account. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. Deletion begins immediately.
Alternatively, email support@clickingnook.com from the email address associated with your account. Email requests are processed within 3 business days.
This permanently removes your account, profile, collections, and preferences. Your subscription is automatically canceled. Anonymized recipe content (ingredients, instructions) may be retained with no link to your identity. Full removal across all systems is completed within 30 days.
How do I change my email address?
Email changes are not currently available in the app. To update the email on your account, contact support@clickingnook.com from your current email address and let us know your new email. We'll verify and update it for you.
What data do you collect?
We collect only what's needed to make Julienned work: your email (for authentication), recipe URLs and text you submit for extraction, and basic product analytics to improve the app. When you use photo extraction, your images are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing and then deleted from our servers.
We never sell your data or show ads. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions & Billing
What are imports?
An import is adding a recipe from a link, photo or pasted text. Free accounts start with 3. After that you can buy a one-time pack of 25 imports for $4.99, or go Premium to import without counting. Typing a recipe in by hand is free and never counts.
Do bought imports expire?
No. Bought imports have no expiry and are used only after your 3 free imports run out. They're kept on your Julienned account, so signing in on a new device brings them back. They're lost if you delete your account.
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are purchased in the app and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). In the app, go to Account and tap Manage Subscription to open your store's subscription settings, where you can change or cancel your plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel in your store's subscription settings: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. The app's Account → Manage Subscription button takes you there. You'll keep premium features until the end of your current billing period.
Deleting the app or your Julienned account does not cancel your subscription — cancel in your store settings first.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you subscribed through. For Apple, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, open your order history in Google Play. If you need help, email support@clickingnook.com.
What do I get with a subscription?
Premium lets you import recipes without counting and organize them in as many collections as you like. Free accounts include 3 imports and 1 collection, and you can buy a one-time pack of 25 imports for $4.99; typing a recipe in by hand is free and never counts. Fair-use limits keep Julienned fast for everyone, such as 50 new recipes a day.
Recipes & Extraction
Why isn't my recipe URL working?
Julienned extracts recipes from the web, but some sites may not work perfectly. Common issues:
- The page requires login — We can only extract from publicly accessible pages
- The recipe is in a video — We can extract from text, URLs, and photos, but not directly from video content
- Unusual page format — Some blogs or sites use non-standard recipe layouts
Tip: If a URL doesn't work, try taking a screenshot of the recipe and using photo extraction instead.
If a specific URL isn't working, email us at support@clickingnook.com with the URL and we'll look into it.
Can I edit a recipe after saving it?
Yes! After saving a recipe, you can tap on any field to edit the title, ingredients, instructions, or notes. Your changes are saved automatically. You can also restore the original extracted version at any time.
What happens to my recipes if I cancel my subscription?
Your recipes stay in your account, and you can still read, edit, cook from and export all of them. Typing a recipe in stays free. Importing from links, photos or pasted text uses any imports you have left; after that, you can buy a pack of 25 or resubscribe.
Cook Mode & Read Aloud
What is cook mode?
Cook mode is a hands-free cooking experience. It reads recipe steps aloud using your device's built-in voice, and you can say commands like next step or repeat, so you can follow along without touching your phone. Perfect for when your hands are covered in flour.
Read aloud isn't playing — what should I check?
If read aloud isn't working, try these steps:
- Make sure your device isn't on silent/mute mode
- Check that the volume is turned up
- Check that your device has a voice installed for your language (Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content)
- Try closing and reopening the recipe
If the issue persists, please email us with your device model and OS version.
Does cook mode work offline?
Yes. Cook mode and read-aloud use your device's built-in voice, so they work without an internet connection for any recipe saved on your device.
